Information for beginners

Starting dates for the children/teenager-beginners courses, see News/Events . They usually start in March and September.

Adult beginner classes are offered in cooperation with the University of Stuttgart. Usually, these start with beginning of the semester and are at the University of Stuttgart, "Keltenschanze".

Training is barefoot on a tatami (畳 Japanese judo mat).You should not-constricting, durable clothing as possible, as a training or take Judo. A judogi can be purchased inexpensively on the club, the price is usually between 25,- and 40,- Euro for a simple judogi. Used judogis or remainders can be found on our "notice board".

Thus the tatami can be kept clean, you should have zori (草 Japanese sandals), flip flops, slippers or the like, which are worn outside the mat.

The following costs are in addition to the normal membership for belt examinations (March 2012):

  • EUR 15 examination fee (for examinations to and including orange-green)
  • new belt (2.50 Euro soft belt / 6, - Euro regular belt), need not to be purchased via the judo club
  • single 13, - Euro for the Judo passport before the examination to the white-yellow belt at the end of the beginner's course (there is also a passport photo required)

    To us and Judo (柔, Japanese "the gentle way") to know, you can practice sessions without joining the club join three.

    Students can train six months for free, but there is no casualty on the club.
